Every inch of the Elder Scrolls v: Skyrim is filled with quests, and side quests, of creatures, details, and items everywhere you look, to let the player have total control over the game experience, hundreds of hours of game play is waiting for you.
With whatever skill set desired, the player can develop any character he or she wants, and the game engine is so intelligent that its radiant story AI will shift the game experience to accommodate the players choices. Holy cow!
Skyrim is an RPG game on steroids! Skyrim is incredible, is all I thought the first time I saw it. This game attracts even gamers who don’t even like RPGs.
The fun derived from fighting a fearsome dragon, conquering it, and absorbing its soul, and getting its powers, is hard to resist. Awesome! On top of that, dual-wielding is now possible. The player can do this with anything you want: a sword in one hand, and magic in the other. Use double magic, or double defence, or double blades, and intensify your attack, use an axe and a hammer, any combo you want.
The realm of the new Elder Scrolls v is just too real looking, too inviting to resist. It is a story you can write, it is a realm like in your favorite fantasy novel. The development team has given the player the power to write your own story in Skyrim.
Everywhere you look things are functional, not just backdrops or props. You can run to the mountains you see on the horizon, and climb to the top of them. But it will take you a long time to get there, just like in real life.
The most amazing thing of all is that the development team was able to get this game to play on existing consoles. Even PCs do not need to be upgraded that much, as far as I have heard.
It is common practise to release games like this, that set a new precedent, on the next generation machines. But the team saw that the 360 had more to give, so they rewrote the engine, and it worked.
